The Stingy Baker retold by Janet Greeson
Retell the story about The Stingy Baker. Make sure you have information from the beginning, middle and end of the story. Tell me the setting of the story along with the major conflict and resolution. Tell me a little about the main character. Did the character change at the end of the story?

The witch went in the door and she said she wanted a dozen cookies plus 1 more. Jan Van said if you want more you have to pay. The next time she wanted a dozen cookies plus 1 more. Jan Van yelled if you want more you have to pay. The witch said that little boys make the best cookies. She went to Jan Van’s little son room and turned him to a cookie. Jan Van didn’t believe in angels then a angel appeared and she said let twelve be thirteen and thirteen be twelve. So Jan Van did give the witch thirteen cookies and the witch said “ how did you learn how to break my spell Then Jan Van went home and Jan Vans little son turn into a person again. Jan Van put a angel cookie in the bakery. The setting was at the baker and at Jan Van's house. The main character is stingy and at the end he changed because his son turned into a person again.
On a winter day Jan Van’s son draws a picture of Jan Van but Jan Van scolds him for drawing. So he cried. Next Jan van makes a little boy cookie to stop his son from crying. One day a customer asked him for a dozen little boy cookies he gave her 12 but she wanted 13. For three days she kept on coming back unhappy and making things happen in his bakery. One day she turned his son into a cookie. He found a cookie in his sons room and crumpled it. An angle came out and told him to give the witch 13 cookies. The next day he gave the witch 13 cookies. From then on he gave everybody 13 cookies. Yes the character changed at the begining he was stingy at the end he was generous and gave things away.
Jan Van was stingy and selfish. He wouldn’t give anything away not even crumbs to mice. That changed on a busy winter day when a witch came in the store and asked for a bakers dozen and Jan Van only gave her twelve. She screamed “thirteen boy cookies” Jan Van said “if you want more you’ll have to pay more”. Then the witch left and cursed the baker. The curse was when he baked cookies they would vanish. When the witch came back she yelled “ a dozen!”. Jan Van only gave her twelve again. The witched told Jan Van “thirteen boy cookies!”. Still Jan Van told her the same thing “if you want more you’ll have to pay more” and the witch left and cursed him again. The curse was all the cookies and bread he baked would float out of the bakery. The same thing happened again when the witch came back. When she left Jan Van got cursed again. The curse was little Jan got turned into a boy cookie. He saw an angel cookie and he was about to smash it but then the angel popped up and told Jan Van to give the witch thirteen cookies instead of twelve. He went back to the bakery and waited for the witch to come then later in she did. The witch came and yelled “THIRTEEN BOY COOKIES!” and Jan Van gave her thirteen cookies. The witch yelled “ how do you know how to break my curse?” then she vanished. He hung up the angel cookie above the door and every time a customer bought a dozen cookies he would give the customer a extra cookie.
It all started out in one winter day when a witch goes in the Bakery. The baker (Jan Van) is stingy. The witch wants a dozen of cookies. The problem is that 12i s 13 and 13 is 12. Jan Van does not know that 12 is 13 and 13 is 12. Then a cookie that looks like an angel turns in to an angel. The angel tells Jan Van that 13 is a 12 and 12 is 13. Jan van the baker never gave away any thing for free. Than one day a witch came in and asked for a bakers dozen. Jan van gave the lady12 cookies and on the third day that Jan van counted out 12 cookies for the witch she said little boys make the best cookies”. That day when Jan van went home he found his wife crying . As Jan van went into his sons room he found his son as a cookie and underneath the bed was an angle cookie that was broken. That minute Jan van went to the shop and the old lady walked in and said for the fourth time I want a dozen cookies and Jan van gave the lady 13 cookies. After that day every time a costumer said a dozen Jan van would give them 13 cookies.
There was a baker named Jan Van who was so stingy, and selfish he didn’t give away anything. When his son came in to his bakery Jan made a little boy cookie, but didn’t give it to him. One day a witch came in and said “I want a dozen cookies.” so Jan wrapped a 12 cookies but she wanted an extra cookie but Jan didn’t give it to her so she left. The next day when he made cookies each time he pulled a tray out they disappeared. Later the witch came back and ordered a dozen cookies but Jan still refused to give an extra cookie so she left. Jan started to knead dough for bread but when he put the bread in the oven it grew and then rose out of the chimney and floated away. The witch came back and asked for a dozen cookies Jan gave a dozen but the witch wanted an extra cookie so she said “The bones of little boys make the best cookies.” Jan went home an found his son has been turned into a cookie. There was an angel cookie below his bed. Jan grabbed it and crumbled it and an angle appeared and told Jan to give the witch 13 instead of twelve. Jan went back to the bakery and waited for the witch. She came and asked for a dozen cookies and Jan gave her thirteen cookies. The witch was pleased and left. Each time Jan gave someone a dozen cookies he added an extra cookie. He wasn’t so stingy, and selfish anymore and learned his lesson.
Jan van was a baker with a son name little Jan van. Jan van didn't know that thirteen cookies were a bakers dozen. A witch came to his shop three times. After the third times she turned his son into a cookie. A angle came and told him that he should give his costumers thirteen little boy cookies and he did and his son turned back into a boy again. and from then on hung an angel cookie above his door. The baker was selfish and greedy he shared nothing. The character did change because at the begin he was selfish and greedy. At the end he was Kind and generous.
Jan Van was a stingy baker and never gave anything away. A witch came in and wanted a dozen cookies and Jan Van gave 12 and the witch wanted 13 and Jan Van gave noting. When Jan Van got home his little boy was a cookie. When Jan Van want back to his bakery and the witch came and wanted a dozen cookies and Jan Van gave the witch got 13 cookies. When Jan Van got home his little boy was not a cookie any more. The main character is Jan Van. The major conflict of the story is Jan Van little boy is a cookie and the resolution is the witch came and got 13 cookies. Yes Jan Van change at the end of the story.
At the being of the story Jan Van made a little boy cookie. At the middle the witch came in the shop and wanted little boy cookies and Jan van give 12 to her she said one more Jan van said you want more pay more so she left the next day the beard foul up into the air after that he want home and the little boy became a cookie. At end of the story the beard came back and the little boy turn back into a boy. So ever time he gives one more then the costume wanted.

Jan Van said that if she wants more she pays more. Then when Jan Van made bread, it all floated away. The next day the witch came back and she wanted a dozen little boy cookies. Jan Van gave her twelve. She got really mad she wanted thirteen little boy cookies. Then she said “The bones of little boys make the best little boy cookies.” Jan Van quickly ran home and found his son as a cookie. He cried a lot. Then he found a angel cookie under his son’s bed. The angel cookie became a real angel and told Jan Van to give the witch thirteen cookies. He ran back to the bakery. Then he waited till the witch came back. When she walked in she said the same thing. Jan Van gave her thirteen cookies. He had broken the witch’s spell. His son was no longer a cookie and all his cookies that had disappeared came back and the bread came back too. From now on Jan Van gave thirteen cookies when his costumers asked for a dozen. He was also no longer stingy and his mice were the fattest bakery mice.
Once there was a stingy baker who never gave crumbs to mice. Then one day a women came throw the door she said give me a dozen all little boy ones so the baker counted 12 and then gave them to the women then she said “I said give me a dozen”. The baker said that is a dozen . Where I come from a dozen is 13 now give me a dozen. The baker said you want more you have to pay more. The witch left in a mad mood. That very morning stage things started happing. The cookies started disappearing the loaf floated into the air. Then when his son turned into a cookie he saw a angle cookie under the sons bed then the angel cookie turned into a angel then told Jan van that let 12 be 13 and 13 be 12. then after that he went to the store and the witch came to the store and she order a dozen cookies and he gave the witch 13 cookies then she left with the cookies. Jan Van is mean till the end of the story he is nice. yes the Jan Van did change he became nice at th end.
The beginning was when the witch came in the bakery the first time. Then she told the man to give her a dozen. The man gave her 12 and she wanted 13 then she left. The middle was when the witch came again the second time then she asked for a dozen which means 13. Then the man gave her 12. then she left then the next day the cookies and dough flew away. The end was when the witch came then she asked for a dozen. The man gave her 12 then she said that his son was a cookie. Then she left then he got mad. Then a angel came and told him to give the witch 13 instead of 12 then he did that then his son turned normal. Then he hanged that angel cookie on his door then he winked at it and then gave a person a bakers dozen which means 13 then nothing never went wrong. The setting was at the bakery a winter day. The main character was selfish. The character changed when his son turned into a cookie.
Lil Jan came in and showed his dad his cookie he made so then Jan van got mad and made a fat cookie and said it looked like Lil Jan. then a witch came in Jan vans bakery and asked for a dozen cookies so Jan van put twelve cookies bon a tray and gave them to her. She threw a fit and said she wanted more cookies but Jan van said, if you want more you must pay more and the witch walked out. Then all the bread started to float away and the she came back and the same thing happened the she came in once more but this time she said kids bones make the perfect cookies. So then when Jan van got home his wife was crying and she said goo into Lil Jan’s room. So he did and he saw a cookie and passed out. When he put his head back up he saw an angel cookie next to him and an angel popped out and said give the witch thirteen and went back into the cookie. so he did and the witch said how did you break my spell and all of the bread and cookies came back. he setting was a bakery. the main characters name is Jan van he was mean at the begining but at the end he was nice.
First the Stingy baker did not give 13 for a bakers dozen. Then this wicked witch came and then she asked for dozen cookies and the stingy baker gave her the cookies but she said were I come from they give us 13 for a bakers dozen. Then the witch turned the stingy bakers son into a cookie. But it was a angle with a broken wing and then the stingy baker broke the curse and got his son back
Jan van was a baker . He was a stingy baker. Jan van made a cookie boy. the raisins for eyes. haft cherry for nose. The witch came in every day say I want a dozen. Cookies and bread stared to floe. Jan vans sun turned into a cookie boy. That made him gives the witch 13 for a dozen. The witch thought a dozen was 13 but it was not. He gave the witch a baker do dozen.
The kid made a pitcher of his dad. So his dad made a cookie of his son thin a witch said give me a dozen cookies. 12 give me one more if you want more you have to buy more. She left and she came back give me a dozen cookies I told you I give away nothing . The bonze of little boy cookies is the best cookies. He whit home saw his wife crying .are son is a cookie said his wife.
Jan Van son loved to draw but Jan Van didn’t love it he loved to bake. Jan Van was a stingy baker he only gave away doze of cookie. He said if you want more you must pay more to the witch her face turned red. Then the witch said a well came back you well see. Then the witch cast a spell on Jan Van son he turned into a little boy cookie. Then Jan Van gave the witch 13 cookie then the witch said how did you now to brake my spell.The problem is that Jan Van son turned into a cookie and Jan Van was stingy.Jan Van found a angel cookie that had a broke wing under Jan bed and put it over his head then a angel Appear. Jan Van is a stingy baker. yes.
